Togal.AI uses a role-based access control system to help you manage what each user can see and do within your account and projects.
Account-Level Roles
These roles are set at the overall account level and determine a user’s permissions across all projects.
There are three account-level roles in Togal: Account Admin, User, and Viewer.
Account Admin
Has full access to all projects and settings
Manages billing and subscription
Can invite/remove users and assign roles
Can create projects and edit default project properties
Can build/manage libraries across the organization
User
Has standard user role
Can create new projects
Can access projects they create or are invited to
Permissions within a specific project are determined by their Project Role
Viewer
Strictly limited to only view the project that they are invited to
Cannot do takeoff, cannot create new projects, and cannot modify existing work
Project-Level Roles
When you invite a user to a specific project, you assign them a project-level role. This role only applies to that particular project. There are three project-level roles in Togal: Can Manage, Can Edit, and Can View.
Can Manage
Full control over the specific project
Can edit project details, manage drawings, and perform takeoffs
Can invite other users to the project and manage their project-level roles
Can Edit
Standard collaborator role within the project
Can edit only their own view, and see other views (but not edit them)
Can View
Can open the project and view drawings and existing takeoffs
Cannot create, edit, or delete any takeoffs or drawings
Ideal for stakeholders or clients who need to review progress without making changes
