Setting up and Managing a Library

Users can create and maintain a library of classifications to be used across multiple projects.

Key Terms

Set

A Set is the main container for a library in Togal. You can create multiple Sets to organize different parts of your workflow, such as Construction Types, Design Levels, CSI Cost Code Libraries, Uniformat Code Libraries, and more. You can reuse these across different jobs and projects as needed.

Classification Groups

Within a Set, you can organize classifications using Classification Groups. They are essentially folders that contain classifications.

  • You can create subgroups of classification groups within parent classification groups.

  • You can drag and drop folders/classifications to parent folders.

  • You can create multiple subgroups under one classification group.

  • You can create subgroups under subgroups.

Users can manage and update their library from both the main library menu and directly within the drawing editor, allowing for seamless updates while working on a project.

Types of libraries

Users can create two types of libraries within Togal:

  1. Organization library - This is a library for a whole organization and can be shared with all users within a company.
Note: A user must have Admin Permission in order to have access to edit an organization library.

  2. Private library - This is a private library for a single individual. No other member from the organization will be able to view or have access to this library.

How to create a library:

  1. To create the library, navigate to the Library Menu. You can choose between "Organization" or “Private” to view/edit the corresponding Library.

  2. Click on "Create new set".

  3. Name your set.

  4. Choose between Organization or Private and click "Create".

  5. Click "Add Folder" in order to create a folder structure or you can begin creating classifications in the set by clicking "Add Classification".

  6. Hover on a classification group and click on the folder icon. The Create Folder window will open allowing you to create a sub-folder of that classification group.

Note: If you need to upload a library from a spreadsheet into Togal, please contact our support team for help.
