The Lasso Selection tool is a powerful selection feature in Togal. Instead of clicking on takeoff items one by one, it allows you to draw a freeform shape to select multiple items at once.
This is extremely useful for moving, deleting, or re-classifying a group of takeoffs in a specific area.
How to Use the Lasso Selection Tool
Activate the Tool: On Windows, press Ctrl+Alt; or on Mac, press Cmd+Shift, and you will now have the Lasso Selection tool activated and are able to draw a free-handed selection polygon
Draw Your Selection Area:
Left click on the drawing and hold down your mouse and drag a freeform shape to make the selection
You can drag from left to right to select only the items that are completely enclosed within the grey window; or drag from right to left to select all items touching the green window
3. Perform Your Action: With the items selected, you can now perform a bulk action:
Move: Click and drag the selected group to a new location.
Delete: Press the Delete key on your keyboard
Re-classify: In the Quantities panel, with the items still selected, click on a different classification to re-assign them all at once
Change Properties: Update properties like color or layer for the entire group
The Lasso Selection Tool is much more flexible than a standard rectangular drag-and-drop selection, allowing you to easily select items in irregularly shaped rooms or across complex sections of a drawing.
