Classifications control what you measure, how it appears on the canvas, and what quantities/units are reported. You can edit these settings anytime in the Quantities Panel.
Classification Types
Togal has three core classification types:
Area
Linear
Count
Each type has:
Default visual settings (color, pattern, symbol, line style)
Default measurement outputs
Optional custom properties you can add or modify

Customization
You have the flexibility to customize your classifications using a variety of colors and patterns, so they’re easy to recognize while you work. Togal offers a range of colors, patterns, and distinct shapes, allowing you to clearly differentiate between elements on the canvas, which helps you visually separate trades, systems, or scope items on the drawing.
Specifically, you can customize the following appearance of your classifications on the Canvas:
Colors
Area patterns (for area takeoffs)
Count shapes/symbols (for count takeoffs)
Output Quantities and Unit of Measurement
Output Quantities
Togal allows you to customize the output quantities and units to be measured. Each classification type comes with a default output quantity, and you can add up to 8 output quantities to capture more quantities from the same takeoff.
Unit of Measurement
Each classification can export quantities in different units (either imperial or metric). Common options include:

Classification Folders
You can organize classifications into folders in the Quantities Panel:
Click the folder icon at the top of the Quantities Panel
Create a folder (e.g., by trade or CSI division)
Drag and drop classifications into the folder
