Togal Assemblies

Togal.AI includes prebuilt Assembly templates based on common wall types, so you can start using them right away.

Measure a wall once, and Togal.AI automatically calculates everything needed to build it — the studs, drywall, and insulation, each with its quantity and cost — so you can estimate in minutes what used to take hours of manual math.

You can also create and customize your own Assemblies to match the way you build.

The Assemblies feature in Togal.AI is designed to help you build faster, more accurate estimates. There are three key parts to using Assemblies:

  • Creating an Assembly
Build your own Assemblies using materials and formulas, which can be reused across any project.

  • Applying an Assembly to a Classification
Assign Assemblies to classifications within your projects to automatically calculate quantities and costs.

  • Exporting Assembly Data
To export Bill of Materials (BOM), group and aggregate your Assembly quantities and costs in the Export panel and export them to Excel, ready to hand to procurement or your estimating system.

How to Create and Manage Materials for Assemblies

This article explains how to create new custom materials for your organization's library. Creating custom materials allows you to accurately account for all components in your assemblies, especially those not included in the standard library. To follow these steps, you should already be in the assembly editor.

  1. From the assembly editor, navigate to the Materials tab in the left-hand panel

  2. Click the green plus (+) icon at the top of the panel to open the Create New Material window

  3. On the Basic Info tab, enter a Material Name and Unit Cost. You can also add an optional Description and select a Unit of Measure (UOM)

  4. (Optional) Click the Organization tab to add organization or accounting codes, like a Master Format number, or add Custom Fields for internal tracking

  5. (Optional) Go to the Properties tab to add specific Physical Properties that help identify or filter the material, or that would be used in a formula, like the material size

  6. Click Save to add the new material to your library. It can now be assigned to any assembly component
