Tutorial Video
Togal's collaboration feature allows you and other licensed Togal users in your organization to work together on the same Set of drawings. When you share, Togal creates a "view" (or layer) for each participant on every drawing in the Set. Each participant can focus on their own work, but also benefit from seeing the work of their colleagues.
Permission levels:
When sharing, you have several options for controlling what each participant can do:
-
Owner: You, the creator of the Set, have full control over all permissions and settings.
-
Manager: Can edit their own view, modify other users' views, and manage permissions and participants, just like the Owner.
-
Editor: Can edit their own view and see all other views but cannot modify them.
-
Isolated Editor: Can create and edit their own view but cannot see or interact with other views. Ideal for users who need to work in isolation.
-
Viewer: Can see all views but cannot edit.
Admins in your organization already have access to all projects and will always have the "Manager" permission level when they join a Set. This ensures they can manage participants and views, even if they are not the original owner of the project.
Steps to share:
By following these steps, you can easily share and collaborate on project Sets with colleagues while managing the level of access and permissions for each participant.
- Open the project and select the Set you want to share.
-
In the top-right corner of the screen, click the Share icon.
-
Click “Add Users”
-
Choose users to share with: You can share Sets with other licensed Togal users in your organization. These are users who have a paid Togal account tied to the same company domain as yours.
-
Define their permission level: Based on the level of access you would like this user to have then click “Add users”.
Collaboration tools:
- Participants can copy (Ctrl-C) content from another user’s view and paste (Ctrl-V) it into their own view. The pasted content will be placed in the same exact coordinates, ensuring accuracy. This is useful when one participant does the Togaling (area, line, and count measurements) and others want to reuse those details in their own view.
- The takeoff results of the Togal button can be copied from view to view. Be aware that doing separate Togaling on each view may lead to unnecessary duplication.
