      The Cut/Subtract Tool for Area Classifications

      The Cut/Subtract tool is used to cut out a space within an existing area classification. To use the tool, click the Cut/Subtract icon and begin outlining the space you would like to remove.

      To use the Cut/Subtract tool:

      1. Select the area you would like to cut or subtract from.
      2. Click on the "Cut/Subtract" icon in the left hand menu or hit the shortcut key "C" 
      3. Trace the shape you would like to remove, double click to complete.
      4. You can copy & paste the cut area within the same classification by selecting the cut area, hitting Ctrl + C on your keyboard to copy and then hitting Ctrl+V to paste.
      5. You can delete a Cut/Subtract area, by selecting the area and hitting the delete key.
