New Features
Custom Item Naming
You now have complete control over naming individual classification items (instances). Previously, each instance of a classification was assigned a system-generated name that couldn't be changed. Now you can give each item a meaningful, custom name that helps you identify and organize your takeoff data.
Key capabilities:
- Item Names: Assign unique names to individual classification instances that appear in the Quantities Panel when you expand a classification to view its items
- Canvas Names: Give each item a separate "canvas name" for display on your drawings. Canvas names can match the item name or be completely different, giving you flexibility in how information appears on plans versus in your data panels
- Display Control: A new setting allows you to show or hide canvas names on your drawings, letting you toggle the visibility of item labels based on your current workflow needs
This feature is particularly useful when working with multiple instances of the same classification that need to be distinguished—such as different rooms with the same finishes, or multiple units of identical equipment that require individual tracking.
Improvements
Enhanced Control Over PDF Preview Markups
You can now easily show or hide markups directly from the Quantities Panel when previewing PDFs, giving you more control over what appears in your preview without needing to adjust checkbox settings.
Streamlined Classification Library Management
The Import from Library workflow now includes a delete option, allowing you to remove classifications or folders directly from the import view. Admin permissions are properly enforced—only administrators can delete items from Organization classification sets, while all users can manage their Private sets.
Natural Alphabetical Sorting
Classification sorting in the Quantities Panel now uses natural alphabetical order. This means items like "L1, L2, L10, L11" will sort correctly by number instead of treating them as text strings. No more workarounds needed with leading zeros.
Admin-Only Project Metadata Fields
Project data field creation is now restricted to administrators only. When creating or editing a project, all existing custom fields are displayed for all projects, ensuring consistency across your organization.
Refined PDF Export Typography
PDF exports now use an improved monospaced font for legends, providing better readability and a more professional appearance in exported documents.
Enhanced Image Search Stability
AI-powered image search with text sub-filters has been stabilized for more reliable results when searching for specific elements within drawings.
Bug Fixes
PDF Export and Preview
Legend Updates Between Pages
Fixed an issue where the legend would not update when navigating between pages in PDF Preview mode. The legend now correctly reflects the content of the currently displayed page.
Markup Text Font Rendering
PDF exports now properly support different fonts for markup text, ensuring your annotations appear as intended in exported documents.
Markup Border Drawing
Resolved a problem where markups would display a border even when the border width was set to 0. Borders now respect the configured settings.
Classification Library
Page Crashes During Sorting
Fixed a critical bug that caused the Classification Library page to crash when changing sort options. Sorting now works reliably across all sort criteria.
Empty Library Drag-and-Drop
You can now drag classifications into an empty classification library. Previously, drag-and-drop would not work when the library was empty.
Delete Permission Errors
Resolved an error that would appear when non-admin users deleted classifications from their Private sets while viewing shared projects. Deletions now process cleanly without unnecessary error messages.
Activity Indicators
Togal Activity Tracking
Activity indicators (green dots) now appear immediately and correctly when performing Togal takeoffs. They properly display on the Sets Page, Drawing Navigator, and Export views.
Count Indicators
Fixed the count activity indicator to accurately reflect counting operations during the togaling process.
Markup Indicators
Markup creation now properly triggers both the activity indicator (green dot) and the markup indicator in List View on the Sets Page.
User Interface
Drawing Selection on Sets Page
Restored the ability to select drawings by clicking directly on the thumbnail image, not just the checkbox. This brings back the more intuitive selection behavior.
Sets View After Deletion
Fixed a bug where the Sets view would appear blank after deleting pages and refreshing. Deleted pages now properly update without causing display issues.
Snapping to Hidden Objects
The snapping tool no longer snaps to hidden objects on the canvas during editing, ensuring you only snap to visible elements.
Feature Properties Save Button
The Save button in Feature Properties now activates immediately when changes are made, without requiring you to click into name fields first.
Premature Feature Visibility
Removed "Assign Predefined Group" option from the context menu, as this feature was not yet ready for production release.
Editing and Measurement
Negative Values in Offset Tool
Fixed the offset function to properly interpret negative values in imperial units. When you enter a negative value in feet (e.g., -1' 6"), the entire measurement is now treated as negative, eliminating the need to enter negatives in both the feet and inches fields.
File Management
Upload Same File Consecutively
You can now upload the same file multiple times in succession using the "Choose file" button without closing the upload modal. Previously, the upload button would remain grayed out when attempting to re-upload the same file.
Smart Groups in Export Filters
Smart Groups now display with the correct icons in Export filters, replacing the incorrect breakdown icons that previously appeared.
External Collaboration
User Visibility for Administrators
When adding an external user to a project, administrators can now immediately see the user listed on the Projects page without delay. Previously, the new user would only appear after adding another collaborator.
