Release Notes - v.3.2.3 - March 12, 2026

Release 3.2.3 introduces Labor and Equipment in Assemblies, allowing you to build complete cost estimates that include not just materials, but also the labor and equipment needed for the work. This release also delivers a significant upgrade to the 3D editing experience for plumbing layouts, along with new usability features like project starring and a learn hub for onboarding resources.      A number of important bug fixes address undo/redo reliability, split/cut/merge operations, and rotated drawing issues.

Key highlights:

  • Labor & Equipment in Assemblies: Create, manage, and assign labor and equipment resources to your assemblies alongside materials
  • Enhanced 3D Editing: Full edit mode in 3D, improved guides, camera shortcuts, and better pipe drawing tools
  • Project Starring: Mark favorite projects for quick access right from the creation modal
  • Learn Hub: New centralized location for booking training sessions

New Features

Labor and Equipment in Assemblies

You can now add labor and equipment resources to your assemblies, giving you a complete picture of project costs beyond just materials. This feature includes:

  • Create labor resources with role and trade definitions, hourly rates, and cost codes. Your organization sets its own rates, which are shared across all users.
  • Create equipment resources with pricing and cost code assignments.
  • Assign labor and equipment to any assembly, both from the Library and directly from the Editor's classification modal.
  • Duplicate resources to quickly create variations of existing labor or equipment entries.
  • Library management: Labor and equipment appear in the Library tree alongside materials, making it easy to browse, search, and organize all your resources in one place.

Unit cost and waste factor tags are now displayed prominently on assembly components, and the search filter in the resource panel now includes a visible dropdown indicator for easier navigation.

Note: Assemblies is sold as an add-on to your Togal subscription. Interested in using Assemblies? Reach out to your account manager for more details.

Enhanced 3D Editing for Plumbing

The 3D view has received a major upgrade, making it a fully functional editing environment for plumbing layouts:

  • Full 3D edit mode: All editing modes (draw, select, move, etc.) now work directly in 3D, so you can make changes without switching back to 2D.
  • Improved pipe drawing: Better indicators, smoother meshes, improved height mode, and the ability to edit vertex-level points when drawing pipes.
  • Enhanced guides: Guides now work across points, lines, lines with height, and 3D meshes, providing accurate snapping in all dimensions.
  • Camera rotation shortcuts: Use Shift + arrow keys for quick camera rotation in both perspective and orthographic views.
  • Context menus in 3D: Right-click context menus now work directly in the 3D renderer.
  • See through fixtures: Pipes behind fixture elements are now visible in 3D, making it easier to review layouts without obstructions.
  • Dynamic tooltips: Quickly view and edit input values directly from tooltips in the 3D view.

Star Projects for Quick Access

You can now “star” a project directly from the New Project creation modal. Once done, starred projects will appear at the top of your project list for quick access.

Learn Hub with Added Ability to Book Onboarding Call

A new Learn Hub section provides centralized access to onboarding resources. New customers can now book an onboarding call directly from the top of the page and be connected to a Togal Product Specialist to help new users hit the ground running.

Keyboard Shortcuts in the Editor Toolbar

Keyboard shortcuts are now accessible directly from the left side pane in the Editor. You can quickly reference all available shortcuts without leaving the canvas. At the same time, simply clicking the letter “K” on your Keyboard will open the keyboard shortcut image at the bottom of your canvas.

Improvements

"Custom Cost Codes" Label

The "Custom Fields" label in the material creation flow has been renamed to "Custom Cost Codes" for better clarity.

Maps Recenter Button

The Recenter button in Maps view has been refined to appear after any takeoff action and more reliably return you to the correct map position.

Editor Performance

Under-the-hood performance improvements reduce unnecessary re-renders and improve responsiveness when working on large projects.

Togal Bug Fixes

  • Fixed: Undo/Redo Causing Data Loss

Resolved a critical issue where undo (Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z) actions could fire during page transitions, potentially causing takeoff data to be lost or deleted. Undo and redo operations are now properly guarded against firing at the wrong time.

  • Fixed: Split, Cut, and Merge Not Working

Resolved an issue where split, cut, and merge operations stopped functioning, particularly when using newly created area classifications. These core editing tools now work reliably across all classification types.

  • Fixed: Zooming on Rotated Drawings

Fixed a bug where zooming was not possible on drawings rotated to certain angles (e.g., 270°). Zoom now works correctly at all rotation angles.

  • Fixed: Unexpected Logouts in Maps and 3D

Resolved an issue where clearing the cache during certain Maps or 3D view actions would inadvertently remove authentication data, causing users to be logged out unexpectedly.

  • Fixed: Selection Box on Rotated Drawings

The selection box (green highlight vs. dark intersection) was appearing inverted on some drawing rotations. Selection behavior is now consistent regardless of drawing orientation.

  • Fixed: Copy-Paste Causing Layer Visibility Issues

Copying and pasting holes (cut-out areas) no longer causes unrelated layers like gross area and footprint to turn on unexpectedly.

  • Fixed: Right-Click Context Menu Crash

Resolved a crash (RangeError) that occurred when right-clicking on takeoff items in certain projects.

  • Fixed: Moving Classifications from Set to Library

Resolved an issue where moving classifications from a Set to the Library would fail silently.

  • Fixed: Single-Letter Repeating Group Names in Text Search

Repeating Groups with single-letter names (e.g., "D" for Window D) now appear correctly in text search results. Previously, only names with two or more characters were found.

  • Fixed: Maps Saving Duplicate Locations

Resolved an issue where the same map location could be saved multiple times when it should only be saved once.

  • Fixed: Background Removal Layer Order

Background cutout areas now correctly render behind all other elements, including area takeoffs.

  • Fixed: Classification Syncing Across Browser Tabs

Classifications now sync properly across multiple open browser tabs within the same Set, preventing inconsistencies when working in more than one tab.

  • Fixed: Refresh Bug on Last Drawing in Set

Refreshing the page while viewing the last drawing in a Set no longer causes a display error.

  • Fixed: 3D View Breaking After Editing Pipe Values

Resolved an issue where modifying pipe values in 2D and then switching to 3D view could cause the 3D rendering to break.

  • Fixed: Plumbing Fitting Scale Mismatch

Corrected a scaling inconsistency between fittings created in the fitting editor and those displayed in assemblies, so pipe and fitting sizes now match as expected.

  • Fixed: 3D Context Menu at Different Zoom Levels

The right-click context menu for polygons in 3D view now appears reliably at all zoom levels, not just when zoomed in.

  • Fixed: Project Starring Not Saving

Starring a project from the project page now persists correctly after navigating away.
