Release Notes | August 10, 2022

(1) Color drawings now supported

When you upload a color drawing, we now preserve the color and give you the option to present it with color enabled in the canvas. Color is off by default.

(2) Persistent Help icon with links to resources

We've introduced a Help icon (question mark) in the lower right of the application. Check out our new resources! The menu item "Contact support" initiates a Chat session that works synchronously if a support person is available, and asynchronously if not. If we're tied up or your request comes in outside of our business hours, we'll get back to you by email as soon as possible.

(3) Improvements to snapping while drawing polygons

We've switched the use of the SHIFT key to make drawing polygons more convenient. Snapping now happens by default. Holding the SHIFT key during drawing now enables free-angle drawing (no snapping).

Go to "Automatic snapping" in Settings if you want to change the default behavior

(4) Clear indication about the point of snapping

As you draw a polygon and approach existing areas, we dynamically display "snapping dots" that are in proximity in order to guide you about valid snapping points.

(5) Improvements to the selection box

You can now drag to create a selection box without holding the SHIFT key.

In addition, we support two modes of selection (see animation below):

  • Dragging from right to left selects all of the objects that are entirely or partially within the box. This is the mode we've always supported.
  • (New) Dragging from left to right selects only the objects that are entirely contained with the selection box.

In the following example, we show how the new left-to-right selection box enables the user to select only the walls on the outer edge of the building, and avoids selecting the adjacent perpendicular walls done by the traditional right-to-left selection.
