What is Togal MCP?
TogalMCP is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection that lets you work with your organization's data in Togal through a governed interface.
You run Togal by typing plain-English with specific requests into an AI assistant you already use, such as Claude or Cursor.
For example, instead of clicking through hundreds of sheets, you can type/or chat in one sentence the task you need it to accomplish inside your Togal account.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that works like a universal adapter between AI assistants and other software.
Togal's takeoff engine does not change: Togal's AI still performs the takeoff. What changes is the work around it, like setting up projects, renaming sheets, building classifications, and pulling reports.
What you need and how to set it up
Before you begin, check that you have:
A paid Togal license
An AI assistant that supports MCP connectors such as Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT
Your Togal email and password
Then:
Step 1: Log into an AI assistant. One that supports MCP connectors and add Togal as a custom connector.
Type URL: https://mcp.togal.ai
That's the whole configuration. No API key, no token to copy, or developer needed.
Step 2: Sign in as yourself. The assistant approves the connection. If your tool can't open a browser, it shows a short code to type into a Togal approval page instead.
Step 3: Start prompting. Begin with a "read-only" question that asks a question on the types of projects you can access. This will confirm if its working.
Expect to sign in again every 7 days. Access expires weekly by design for security. This is not a bug; sign back in and pick up where you left off.
How it works
Your assistant acts as you inside Togal, never with more access than you have.
TogalMCP runs on the same API as the Togal app. It only performs tasks the app can already do, and it can't touch third-party integration partners' data.
What it won't do
• It won't do your whole plan set 100% automatically
• It can't read every room and tell you what it needs
• It isn't meant to replace an estimator's judgment
