Creating and editing classification properties

Togal has many new available outputs and units of measurement for classifications. You can add additional classification properties in the "Edit"

We provide more pattern choices for areas, and more shapes for counts. Export capabilities have been expanded to accommodate all the new properties.

Area classifications

The following outputs are available (* = default):

  • Area: Square Inches (IN2), Square Feet (SF)*, Square Yards (SY), Square - 100 square ft (SQ)
  • Perimeter: Inches (IN), Feet (FT)*, Yards (YD)
  • Volume: Cubic Feet (CF)*, Cubic Yards (CY)
  • Slope: for Area calculations only

Note:

You can specify height and slope. Slope is used for area calculations only, not for volume or perimeter. You can also specify a tile grid. Tile quantities are calculated using an average tile formula.

The following screenshot shows the modal for setting up your Area quantities.

Linear classifications

The following outputs are available:

  • Length: IN, FT*, YD
  • Perimeter: IN, FT*, YD
  • Volume: CF*, CY
  • Vertical Area 1 Side: IN2, SF*, SY
  • Vertical Area 2 Sides: IN2, SF*, SY
  • Vertical Area All Sides: IN2, SF*, SY
  • Horizontal Area: IN2, SF*, SY

You can specify height, width and slope. Slope impacts the length calculation only.

Count classifications

You can specify a height and width for Count classifications. The default values are 0" for height and 12" for width. The following outputs are available:

  • Total Height: IN, FT*, YD
  • Area: IN2, SF*, SY
  • Perimeter: IN, FT*, YD
  • Ver Area All Sides: IN2, SF*, SY
  • Volume: CF*, CY

Default values

The following defaults are used for the Togal classifications, and when creating a new classification:

Area: Height 4"
Linear: Height 0", Width 4"
Count: Height 0", Width 12"

Tile count calculations

Average grid area is calculated:
   Square feet = ((entry 1 + gap) x (entry 2 + gap)) / 144

Tile count is based on the average:
round up (polygon area / avg grid area)

Export support for the additional properties

Togal's export support has been expanded to support the additional properties. You can set up to 3 main quantity outputs for a given classification. These show up in the first 3 columns in the export table as Quantity 1, Quantity 2 and Quantity 3. In addition, if the relevant inputs are available, the following columns are always available to be either revealed or hidden.

  • Height (IN, FT)
  • Width (IN, FT)
  • Area (SF, SY)
  • Linear (FT, YD)
  • Volume (CF, CY)
  • Count

Use the Column menu to control which are shown:
